Impact of COVID-19 on Mental Health
COVID-19 has caused widespread fear, stress, worry, and isolation. It is common for people to experience feelings of anxiety, depression, and worsening of existing mental health conditions. In addition, people may show changes in behaviors such as emotional outbursts and increase in substance use behaviors. Children may also display changes in behavior such as excessive crying, avoidance of activities, changes in eating habits, difficulties with concentration. Stress and other effects on mental health can also lead to physical pain throughout the body (Javed et al., 2020).
