Biography
Originally from the midwest, Caitlin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in harp performance with a minor in music composition at Augustana College (Rock Island, Illinois). As the studio assistant to her harp professor, Dr. Erin Freund, Caitlin was responsible for managing studio events and conducting the Augustana Harp Ensemble. After winning Augustana's concerto competition in 2017, she performed Maurice Ravel's Introduction & Allegro with the Augustana Symphony Orchestra. During her time in Rock Island, Caitlin also volunteered as a music theory & history class teacher for a local music outreach program and performed free recitals for the community. From 2016 to 2018, Caitlin spent her summers training in orchestral harp performance at the prestigious Monteux School in Hancock, Maine, where she performed in weekly orchestra and chamber music concerts.

Caitlin moved to Texas in 2018 to pursue her master's degree in harp performance from Baylor University. As a graduate assistant, she was a manager, music librarian, and program notes author for the Baylor Symphony Orchestra. Caitlin received extensive training as a soloist and chamber ensemble musician throughout her master's degree. She also performed alongside her harp professor, Dr. Karen Abrahamson Thomas, in the Waco Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, she was selected for the United States Air Force Band's Collegiate Symposium, where she performed with the USAF Band and was mentored by their principal harpist, Gréta Ásgiersson, in Washington, D.C.
After earning her master's degree in 2020, Caitlin moved across the country once again to begin a doctoral degree in harp performance at the University of Maryland. As a graduate assistant, she coached the undergraduate harp students in orchestral repertoire and assisted with teaching an undergraduate course on music improvisation. Because of ongoing difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, she decided to take a break from her doctoral studies and moved back to Texas. She was hired as a harp program facilitator and private lesson instructor at Round Rock ISD, where she was responsible for the harp programs at 7 schools within the district.
