Chinese American Citizens Alliance - Los Angeles

Purpose. Objective. Cardinal Principles.

Established in 1895, the Chinese American Citizens Alliance (C.A.C.A.) has fought against racial discrimination,

defended civil rights, opposed anti-immigration movements and countered efforts to marginalize American Chinese culture and heritage.

Each of the 18 chartered lodges across the U.S. is dedicated to enhancing civic pride, supporting community services and promoting responsible citizenship.

C.A.C.A. Los Angeles was organized on May 15, 1912.

Purpose and Objectives

The Purposes and Objectives of the Chinese American Citizens Alliance are to:

Empower Chinese Americans by pursuing the highest ethics, morals, and values for our organization and our communities;

Practice and defend American citizenship and American patriotism;

Better the economic and political opportunities in our communities;

Preserve Chinese American historical and cultural traditions;

And assure the education of our youth and community.

Members’ Cardinal Principles

A Member shall be a person of highest character and shall uphold the principles of charity, justice, fidelity, fellowship, and mutual help of other Members, shall support the pursuit of knowledge, and must suppress self-interest to foster an organization united in cause for the good of community and our Alliance.
