Donate a Mite

Jorah Mahmud, a caregiver, has her story featured in an article by Channel NewsAsia (on the right).

Jorah is the caregiver to her son with autism. The article explores her struggles with his violent behaviour. CAL's C2C programme was able to help her get support from other caregivers.

But there's a side to the story that's not been covered.

Jorah has a big heart. When she benefited from CAL, she wanted to give back. So despite struggling to make ends meet, she insisted on donating a small amount.

Jorah donated a mite. Here's what our volunteer manager had to say about her: “I was profoundly touched by her magnanimous spirit when she insisted on donating to our cause, knowing full well that she had so little and yet so willing to give. It was a humbling and yet ennobling experience for me to have met and known Jorah.”

Donate a Mite

It does not matter how much you give; what matters is your heart as you give.

Maybe you feel you have not much to offer…

But consider this:

$10 X 6 weeks = $60 (1 donor)

$60 x 10 donors = $600

$60 x 2500 donors = $150,000

With many generous hearts, so much can happen when we each donate a mite.

During these challenging times, we are mindful that many people have lost jobs or are facing job uncertainties. Our campaign's fundraising target of $250,000 is a huge sum.

But we remain hopeful that there are individuals and companies/organisations that have the means to give and who are compassionate towards caregivers of PMHIs. This campaign seeks to involve the community at large – CAL staff, CAL Board members, caregivers who have benefited from our programmes, caregivers who have yet to know about us, as well as supporters, advocates and well-wishers from all walks of life in Singapore and beyond. We welcome you to join us.
