2,500 Participants | $250,000 Target | 250 million Steps Together

Closing message from CAL. Thank you!

Campaign Period: 6 June to 18 July 2020

3 Goals

  1. Raise $250,000 through digital fundraising to tap on Tote Board’s Enhanced Fund-raising Programme (EFR) and other schemes

  2. Raise awareness and support for the #YOLO2020 campaign by engaging more caregivers, their friends and loved ones, as well as donors and supporters of mental wellness

  3. Raise community camaraderie by mobilising at least 2,500 participants to donate at least 15,000 steps per week to collectively achieve 250 million steps over 6 weeks

Goal 1

Making a change, step by step

Why $250,000? If we can achieve that amount through this campaign, CAL would receive an additional $250,000 in dollar-for-dollar matching. ...

This amount comes from Tote Board's contribution of 40% of funds raised (capped at $100,000) under the Enhanced Fund-raising Programme (EFR), and the Government's additional 60% EFR matching (capped at $150,000).

This makes it an ideal chance to make every dollar of your donations to count for more!

Goal 2

From I'll to We'll

By gathering many individual participants together, this campaign aims to rally more people in support of the #YOLO2020 initiative. ...

We have a team of 7 CAL staff who have been training to climb Everest Base Camp since November 2018. They want to advocate for greater awareness of mental illness and rally support for caregivers shouldering the burden of caregiving responsibilities.

#YOLO2020 is important because it is a fun and relatable way to spread the message about mental health and caregiving. Help us to rally more people in support of the campaign! You can find out more about it at the #YOLO2020 Team CAL website: #YOLO2020.

Goal 3

Mental I llness to Mental We llness

Physical health and mental health go hand in hand. Let's unite as a community to advocate for mental wellness and caregiving! ...

This is a good chance to invest in new habits and lifestyles to stay fit, by doing healthy activities together during the COVID-19 period.

Let’s do this as a community and purposefully seek to spread the message about mental health and the needs of caregivers in Singapore.

As the campaign progresses, look out for weekly activities and initiatives that will be centered around these 3 goals!

What Can I Do?

STEP up to the challenge!

  • Exercise together and count your steps so that we can collectively achieve 250 million steps to raise awareness for mental health.

  • Wear your step tracker or download a steps tracking app on your phone. Any form of physical activity you do to hit 15,000 steps per week counts!

Remember to submit your progress so that your contribution can count toward the total number of steps achieved under the campaign.

'Donate' your steps on the Submit your Steps form.

DONATE to support caregivers

Every dollar raised will be used to train and support caregivers of persons with mental health issues.

Our signature C2C Programme has helped more than 4,000 caregivers in the last 8 years, enabling them to benefit from a support network of fellow caregivers and to receive emotional support and help from CAL when facing a crisis.

Your donation will also help us to organise engagement events that encourage caregivers to have a time of respite, find new friends and strengthen their support networks.

You may contribute steps or make a donation, or do both!
