Join a team of 2 to build and fly a model Spitfire! You'll learn the terminology and mechanisms of traditional aircraft, get hands-on experience with more advanced manufacturing methods, and learn the basics of aircraft design.
To build this aircraft you will learn 2 critical skills in aircraft manufacturing and design:
how to operate the laser cutter located in the Prototyping lab (EB 117)
how to use XFLR5, an aircraft analysis tool to determine flight and aerodynamic characteristics.
To fly your aircraft we have Simulator software to give you the practice and experience to make your first flight is a success!
