Byaj Book (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Byaj Book mobile application (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.

Byaj Book is an offline-first loan and interest management app. Most of your financial records are stored on your device. When you use premium features, selected data may be backed up and synced to our cloud. We do not sell your personal information.
When you use the App, you may provide:
Account information: your mobile phone number, display name, and language preference.
Financial records: information you enter about customers and lenders, including names, phone numbers, addresses, and notes; loan details such as principal, interest rate, and dates; and payment and transaction history.
Support messages: subject lines and message content when you contact us through in-app support.
Referral information: your referral code and any referral code you enter when signing up.
Security settings (Premium): an optional app lock PIN, stored only on your device.
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter. You should only store information about customers, lenders, or other individuals when you have a lawful right to do so.
Authentication data: when you sign in or delete your account, we use one-time passwords (OTP) sent to your phone number to verify your identity.
Subscription information: your plan type, subscription expiry date, and Google Play purchase details needed to verify premium access and referral rewards.
Device and usage metadata: basic device information such as device model or manufacturer, and your last login time. We may also update a last-active timestamp on our servers for account and administrative purposes.
App preferences: settings such as theme, currency, default interest options, and sync-related preferences.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics services in the App.
On Android, the App requests Internet access for sign-in, cloud sync, subscriptions, support, and referrals. The App does not require location, contacts, camera, or microphone access for its core features.
We use your information to:
create and manage your account using phone-based login
store, display, and calculate your loan and interest records
generate reports, statistics, and PDF exports (Premium)
provide premium features such as unlimited customers, app lock, cloud backup, and multi-device access
process Google Play subscriptions and verify purchases
operate the referral program and reward months for verified premium referrals
respond to support requests
prevent misuse of the App, including account suspension where necessary
comply with applicable legal obligations
For free users, most ledger data remains on your device. Signing in still requires an internet connection to verify your account.
For premium users, customers, loans, and transactions may be synced to our cloud when your device is online. Cloud sync is part of the premium offering and requires an active subscription.
Your app lock PIN is stored only on your device. We cannot recover your PIN if you forget it.
We use trusted service providers to operate the App. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services to us. We do not sell your personal information to them.
MSG91 provides SMS-based OTP authentication. When you sign in or delete your account, your phone number is shared with MSG91 to send and verify one-time passwords. MSG91’s privacy policy is available at https://msg91.com/privacy-policy
Supabase provides cloud hosting, authentication, account profiles, premium cloud sync, referral tracking, support tickets, and subscription-related records. If you use premium features or sign in, your account and related data may be stored and processed by Supabase. Supabase’s privacy policy is available at https://supabase.com/privacy
Google Play processes in-app subscription payments. Google handles payment details such as card or UPI information. We receive only the information needed to confirm your subscription status, such as purchase tokens and plan details. Google’s privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Fonts may be used to deliver the Nunito font used in the App. In some cases, your device may connect to Google servers to load fonts. Google’s privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy
We may share information in the following situations:
With service providers: we share data with MSG91, Supabase, and Google Play as described above so they can provide authentication, hosting, payments, and related services on our behalf.
With administrators: authorized Byaj Book administrators may access limited account and usage information for support, fraud prevention, subscription management, and internal reporting such as user counts and revenue statistics. We do not sell or share your private ledger data with other App users.
For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.
We do not share your personal information for third-party advertising.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the App.
Cloud ledger data for premium users is retained until you delete your account or remove it through account deletion.
Support tickets are retained as long as needed to resolve your request and for reasonable record-keeping.
Subscription and purchase records may be retained for billing verification, referral validation, and audit purposes.
When you delete your account through Settings → Delete Account and verify with OTP, we permanently delete from our servers your profile, customers, loans, transactions, support tickets and messages, referral records linked to your account, and your authentication account. Local data on your device is also cleared as part of this process. Account deletion cannot be undone. Depending on applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to:
access the personal data we hold about you
correct inaccurate account information
delete your account and associated cloud data through the App
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, such as by discontinuing use of premium cloud features or deleting your account
nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, where applicable under Indian law

We will acknowledge privacy-related complaints within 72 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days, as required under applicable Indian rules.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for data sent over the internet and access controls on our cloud database so users can access only their own data.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and protecting your app lock PIN.
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the region where our Supabase project is hosted. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred and processed in those locations subject to applicable safeguards.
Byaj Book is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may use the App only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Your parent or guardian is responsible for your use of the App and for any information you enter, including details about customers, lenders, or loans.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe a user under 13 has created an account, contact us at byajmitra@gmail.com.
Information you enter about customers, lenders, or other third parties is entered and controlled by you. You must have a lawful basis to collect and store that information. Byaj Book provides a tool to store and manage records you choose to enter; we do not independently contact your customers or lenders.
The App supports referral links that may store a pending referral code on a new installation before you sign up. Installing the App alone does not qualify for referral rewards. Referral rewards are granted only when a referred user purchases premium and the Google Play purchase is verified.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version at https://sites.google.com/view/byaj-book/privacy-policy and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
