Programme, Venue and Area

Participants are expected to arrive and check-in to their accommodation at Queen Margaret Residences on Sunday, 18th Aug 2019, from 3pm followed by dinner at the University at 6pm. Please see Travel & Accommodation for arrival details.

The School programme will start on Monday, 19th Aug at 9am sharp and it will finish on Friday, 30st Aug at 12pm.

Course material (lecture notes, slides & problem sheets) is being made available here as the BUSSTEPP programme progresses. The tentative timetable can be found below. Note that the lectures start at 9am sharp, please plan your morning accordingly! There are major building works going on on the campus, so please leave plenty of time!

A detailed map of the key School venues can be found below: Coming from Queen Margaret Residences (for directions see here, about 20 mins by foot) walk down Byres Road and turn left on to University avenue and enter the University Campus through the Botany Gate. The Kelvin Building is around the right corner on the left hand side (yes, the ugly grey building). All lecture and tutorial rooms are located on the 2nd floor: Through the entrance turn right at the janitors' booth and follow the corridor/signs for lecture hall 222.

Breakfasts are available at the Fraser Building from 8am at the Food for Thought outlet (farthest away from the main entrance on level 3) using a UoG FoodCard. There is a daily limit of £6 that does not roll over to the following day. Lost cards are subject to a £5 charge.

Dinners will be served at the Fraser Building at 6pm except on the day of the conference dinner on Wednesday 28/08, information will follow in due course.

As catering outlets are closed on the weekend breakfast will be delivered to the Queen Margaret Residences in the form of breakfast bags, which can be collected during dinner on Friday 23/08. Lunch will be available in the Kelvin Building in the form of a sandwich buffet. No dinner will be provided on Saturday and school attendants will make their own arrangements on Sunday.
