Benefits of Membership

Club membership is a great way to meet new like-minded people and offers the chance to visit areas that you might not have chosen if you were alone.

Members and visitors are insured while participating in all activities conducted by BOSQ, including survey trips, meetings, social events, and travelling to and from club activities.

How to join

We prefer people to come to a meeting first and talk to our New Members Officer.

Walks vary in difficulty to cater for a range of abilities. We encourage new members and guests to come along to a meeting first and we welcome you with easier walks before attempting the harder ones, especially if you haven’t tried bushwalking before.

The club policy permits a visitor to participate in BOSQ activities on a maximum of three days per year before they must apply for membership.

You need to complete at least one walk (not a Social Outing) as a visitor/guest before you can apply for membership. Members need to be at least 18 years of age.

The membership application form and fee are presented to the Management Committee for acceptance. BOSQ has implemented a Temporary Member class where your attendance is covered by the club's insurance policy for the duration of the activity upon signing on and agreeing to the acknowledgement of risk statement.

The club year is from September to August and the annual membership fee per person for 2023/2024 is $40.00 . A pro-rata membership fee is applied from November to August.
