President: Cybil Federer

My name is Cybil Federer, and I am the President of the BEA Union. I have been a Spanish teacher in the district for 13 1/2 years. I have my B.S.Ed. from IUP in Spanish and Spanish Education, and I have a M.E.T. from Boise State University in Educational Technology. I am the department chair for World Languages and the Spanish Club sponsor. I have been married to my husband Mike for six years, and we currently have basset hounds and one cat. In my free time, I love traveling, and have spent time in Mexico, Spain, and Peru. I also love reading, singing, playing guitar, swimming, biking, and going out to eat with friends. I am excited to be a new officer for the union and look forward to getting to know everyone better!

Vice President: Michael Pagnotta

Michael Pagnotta has been a member of the Burrell Music Department since 2014 and has been Vice President of the union since 2020. Michael currently teaches in three of the four buildings in the district and travels between all three each day. He is honored to work with band students starting in the 4th grade all the way up through their high school graduation. It is a possibility very few teachers are able to experience. Working in three buildings has really helped Michael get an understanding of how even the smallest change can have long-reaching impacts over the years. This helps influence most decisions and conversations he has every day. Michael is most thankful for the work all previous Vice Presidents have done before him and plans to continue to tradition of excellence, fairness, and hard work going forward.

Secretary: Sara Schwartz

My name is Sara Schwartz, and I have served as a building rep and am now proud to serve as the secretary of the BEA Union. I hold a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Duquesne University and have been practicing as an SLP for the past 13 years. This is my third year working as a speech-language pathologist in the Burrell School District. I also am one of the Burrell Unified Bocce Coaches. Outside of school, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our two daughters, taking our dog for walks, and cheering on the Burrell Bucs. I’m excited for the opportunity to serve as BEA secretary and look forward to supporting our members!

Treasurer: Patricia White

My name is Patty White and I am the Treasurer for the BEA Union. I have been one of the certified school nurses at Burrell for the past 18 years and will be taking on the role of Coordinator of Health Services in the fall. My nursing career started at Allegheny General Hospital where I gained experience in neurosurgery, trauma, pediatrics, NICU, and orthopedics. My education includes a BSN from Carlow College and a Master’s in Education from Walden University. My husband Pattrick and I are both graduates of Burrell as well as our three children. We enjoy spending time with our family and especially enjoy spoiling our granddaughter Elizabeth. I look forward to serving as the Treasurer.
