Sinus grafting is often required in the Upper jaw where there is not enough bone. We use both lateral and transcretal approaches and surgery is done with our piezotime bone surgery unit.
Here is an advanced case where there wasn't enough bone to place an implant.
Surgery to rebuild the jaw bone was carried out. The C.T. Scans show the gain in bone volume.
The Yellow lines are the original - - The Green is the final - - The Red lines represents the volume gain
We now have an excellent foundation to place an implant.
While there are many practitioners who place dental implants, very, very few are trained and competent in advanced bone grafting procedures.
All too often no prior grafting is performed and an implant is "squeezed".
Without a good foundation these cases simply don't hold up over time.
