Bullies have a strong need to control and suppress others to get their own way. (Saracho, 2017) compares the characteristics of both the bully and the victims of the bully.
Bullies are:
- impatient and easily enraged
- Intimidate others
- physically stronger than their peers
- rebellious and aggressive toward others, including parents and teachers
- Have little sympathy toward those who are victimized .
Victims are:
- low self-esteem. cautious, sensitive, quiet, withdrawn and shy, anxious, insecure, sad and sometimes suicidal.
- Easily intimidated
- Lacking friends
- Relate better with adults than with peers.
- Physically weaker than their peers .
