Do you like trivia? Well, perhaps joining a JROTC academic team is for you. These academic teams in JROTC are called the JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB). We have two types of teams. The Leadership JLAB Team is focused on JROTC related questions. The Academic JLAB Team is focused on SAT questions and current events. Both teams will also answer financial management questions. Teams generally meet at least once a week starting in October and taking their first exam in early to mid November. If they received a high score, then they compete in the Level II exam that occurs within the first two weeks of February. The top 24 teams nationwide are then selected to compete at the JLAB Championship Bowl in Washington D.C. in mid-June at no cost.
If you are on a JLAB team, you are authorized to wear the JLAB cord and following the 1st exam, you will be issued the JLAB ribbon.
