Welcome to the STEM Open Educational Resource Course. This online course will familiarize you with the skills, knowledge, and attitude needed by teachers to develop STEM competencies for classroom teaching.

The course has 4 modules :

Module 1 -

Knowledge of STEM Education
STEM is everywhere.
Need for STEM Education

Module 2 -

Integration of STEM disciplines through real-life problems.
Strategies and methodologies to enhance STEM learning within our classrooms.
Introduction of a STEM lesson plan.

Module 3 -

Exploration and experimentation in STEM classroom teaching.
Enhancing STEM competencies through technologies.
Building STEM skills

Module 4 -

Creation of a variety of assessments to evaluate STEM Competencies in teachers and students.
Building STEM attitudes and ethics.
Integrating STEM & SDGs
Feedback and closure.

To ensure that you receive maximum benefit from the course, please follow the guidelines.

Attendance for online sessions at the beginning and end of the course is mandatory
Read and watch all the content (ex: videos, presentations, reading material)
Participate in all collaborative activities such as Google docs, Google Sheets, and Padlets.
Complete the lesson plans
Respond to the messages from the course creator

to participate fully in the course by contributing to interactive tasks in the appropriate week

Profile of the course coordinator

Kavita Sanghvi holds a Masters's in Physics, a Master's in Education, a Master's in Philosophy of Education, and a CAEL [Certificate in Advanced Course in Educational Leadership] Diploma from Harvard University. She is an ardent Physics teacher, STEM trainer, and School Leader.

She is a National Awardee 2022, a Mentor for the National Mission for Mentoring under NCTE, a Certified STEM Educator from Scientix and the New York Academy of Science, and a Scientix Ambassador for India. She has designed various STEM lesson plans, modules, and videos which have been appreciated across the world and used as resources.

Her story on 'Teachers Transform Learning' has been shared by UNESCO's Teacher Task Force.

She is a contributor to the Teacher’s resource for Cambridge IGCSE Physics and Cambridge Author. She is an active blogger sharing her teaching-learning practices with the rest of the world.

This STEM Program is created as a research experiment for her Ph.D study
