Quantum in your Classroom

Quantum in your Classroom is part of George Mason University's (GMU) K12 Quantum Workforce Development Project, which is being run by GMU's Quantum Science and Engineering Center. The project aims to inspire the next generation of students to pursue the field while simultaneously preparing a diverse quantum workforce in Northern Virginia. GMU faculty Jessica Rosenberg and Nancy Holincheck run workshops on quantum for K-12 teachers to help them introduce these concepts in their classrooms. They also work with K-12 teachers on the development of quantum material that can be integrated into the existing curriculum. They, in partnership with the Potomac Quantum Innovation Center, host a summer immersion program for rising high school seniors, which exposes them to laboratories, industries, and government agencies that are working in this field.
