BUETian Alumni Association Alberta started as BUET Alumni Edmonton and Northern Alberta in 2018 July.

In the inauguration event (BBQ with BUETians) the members of the organization formed an adhoc committee to run the organization. The adhoc committee members were: Emdad Haque, Dr. Zahidul Islam, Md. Shahinul Islam, Dr. Bipro Ranjan Dhar, Shamim Ara Begum, Mahmud Rashedul Amin, Nazmul Islam Sieam, Muhammad Rizwanur Rahman and Abdullah Al Mamun. Although later Shamim Ara Begum reigned from the adhoc committee.

The first executive committee formed in September 2019 to run the organization for 2020-2021: President: Emdad Haque, Vice-president: Abdul Mannan, Director- Administration: Mahmud Rashedul Amin (Rashed), Director - Finance: Abdullah Al Mamun, Director - Professional Development: Dr. Zahidul Islam, Director - Education and Research: Dr. Bipro Ranjan Dhar, Director - Membership and Communication: Muhammad Rizwanur Rahman, Director - Media and Publication: Nazmul Islam Sieam and Director - Events: Rezwana Huq

The association renamed from BUET Alumni Edmonton and Northern Alberta to BUET Alumni Association Alberta in 2019. Finally, The Association registered as BUETian Alumni Association Alberta under the Society Act Alberta on October 1, 2020
