Buttonwood Sound Club, Inc., (B.S.C.) is a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Florida, filed on February 20, 1960, with the Department of State, Division of Corporations, Tallahassee, Florida 32314. The document number of this corporation is 700479.
The rules and regulations have been established under the authority of the B.S.C. Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. These rules and regulations shall be binding on all members and their guests while utilizing the amenities of B.S.C., which is a private club.
The rules and regulations shall be strictly enforced to ensure members and their guests can enjoy B.S.C. amenities to their fullest extent. Therefore, it is essential that members and guests cooperate by adhering to the rules and regulations.
Members who fail to adhere to the rules and regulations shall be subject to B.S.C. board review. The board has the right to levy sanctions on the member or permitting member if the violation was committed by a member’s guest. The sanctions can range from verbal warning up to and including membership termination.
Members are strictly prohibited from sharing possession of boat ramp keys.
Visiting guests may use a member’s beach access key as defined in the B.S.C. Bylaws (Article III, Section 6 (E)).
Unaccompanied children under 14 years of age are prohibited from accessing B.S.C. property.
Upon entry into the fenced area of B.S.C., a board member may request to visually inspect the member’s access key and obtain your name for authorized access verification.
Gate access points must be locked at all times.
Boat ramp and ramp access area shall never be blocked or obstructed.
No jumping or diving from the dock. No swimming near the boat ramp or dock.
All personal items and trash must be removed from B.S.C. property prior to your departure.

No pets are permitted inside the fenced area of B.S.C., except for boarding a pet onto a water vessel. The pet shall be leashed and be under the control of the owner inside the fenced area of B.C.S. until the vessel leaves the dock.
No glass containers or objects are permitted inside the fenced area of B.S.C.
No overnight parking or docking is permitted on B.S.C property. “Overnight” is defined as continuous use from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. the following morning.
No camping is permitted on B.S.C. property.
No fireworks are allowed on B.S.C. property.
No electric-powered or fossil-fueled vehicles are permitted inside the fenced area of B.S.C.
Riding bicycles within the fenced area is prohibited. Bicycles may be parked inside the fenced area at the designated bike rack only.
All fires must be contained within the designated barbecue pits. Fires must be extinguished prior to departure from B.S.C.
No water vessel over 28 feet in length, triple-axle trailers, or vessels with a gross weight of more than 9,000 pounds may utilize the boat ramp.
Water vessels must be ready for deployment upon entry to boat ramp. Mooring to the dock on the swimming area side is permitted for a maximum period of 4 hours. Mooring to the dock on the ramp side shall be limited to the time necessary to launch/retrieve the water vessel by means of the boat ramp.
B.S.C. may not be reserved or utilized for commercial, political or religious activities.
Members who wish to use the Chickee Hut for gatherings of more than 10 individuals must submit a reservation request by email to: BSC33037@gmail.com. The reservation request shall contain the requesting members name, contact phone number, date and time of gathering, and number of guests. Reservations must be made no less than 14 days prior to the gathering for approval. No reservation shall be accepted for more than 50 individuals.
Parking is only permitted for members and their guests. There are two designated parking areas; Lot A, which is the area nearest to the Chickee Hut access gate, extending from the flag pole to the canal. Lot B is the recessed area extending from the Sunset Blvd. park entrance to the flag pole. Lot B is reserved only for properly decaled watercraft trailers and their tow vehicles. All other vehicles shall park in Lot A.
Unauthorized vehicles, watercraft trailers and vehicles towing watercraft trailers that are parked in Lot B and do not display a proper/current B.S.C. parking decal are subject to being towed at owner’s expense.
Members and guests shall adhere to all Federal laws, Florida State laws, and Monroe County laws and ordinances while on B.S.C. property. Any breach of laws and ordinances is grounds for board review and possible sanctions for the offending or permitting member.
