History

History:

Troop 495 was founded on June 26, 2002 by Mr. Yo-Wei Liu. The troop first formed with 9 families and 10 Scouts from Chinese Church in Christ - San Jose with no prior Scouting background and was blessed with the assistance of Troop 453's Senior Scouts in troop development and early advancement. Troop 495 is one of the first troops in Silicon Valley to serve the Chinese-American Christian community, but families of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds are welcome to join as a part of this inclusive program.

Fast forward to today, Troop 495 has seen a lot of Scouts come and leave our troop, along with plenty of Scouts reaching Eagle. We still continue to serve families of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds and welcome them to join our troop. Even though a long time has passed since the founding of our troop, our loving and welcome atmosphere still remains to this very day.
