There are currently a total of 138 possible merit badges that our scouts can potentially earn. Finding a merit badge counselor can be a challenge with some, but there are three ways a scout can find a counselor and earn a merit badge. Scouts must begin by talking to the Scoutmaster in each case.
Talk to one of the merit badge counselors named below for the specified merit badge. They are usually available at any troop meeting. In some cases, a MBC will offer classes on specified dates, and the scouts may have to complete pre-requisites to attend. Some Campouts may also allow merit badges, depending on what the scouts plan.
Summer Camp or Winter Summit are week-long camps at Camp Pupukea or other location the troop decides to go that will offer many merit badges with on-site experience. These are great opportunities to choose 5-6 merit badges
Online classes for certain merit badges, such as those offered through Facebook, should be approved by the Scoutmaster.
The following Merit Badges have Merit Badge Counselors in our Troop. Scouts must inform the Scoutmaster that they want to begin any of these Merit Badges, and the Scoutmaster will refer them to one of our counselors. If there is a merit badge that is not here, the Scoutmaster can refer the scout to either a counselor in our district or an online resource. Merit Badges with a silver border are Eagle required merit badges.
