On February 8th, Brushstrokes hosted a community paint-by-numbers event at the Albany Library, welcoming 45+ participants ranging from toddlers to middle schoolers to seniors. Together, they completed three murals, which are now on display in the library’s children’s area. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and contributed to the artwork!
Brushstrokes for the Bay created a new mural for the Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce during the Lunar New Year Bazaar on Jan 21, 2026 and Feb 1, 2026. The public was able to watch, and it was wonderful to connect with so many incredible people throughout the celebration.
Brushstrokes paneled, tabled, and hosted a collaborative painted mural at this event hosted by Frontline Catalysts in Oakland!
Brushstrokes hosted a mural painting activity at Oakland Chinatown's Streetfest on Aug. 23, 2025. Passersby helped bring the mural to life through an interactive paint-by-number. We are proud to say that it was displayed on the second day of the festival and will be put up in the Chinatown Chamber of Commerce!
We’re proud to partner with LEAF (Local Ecology and Agriculture Fremont)—a volunteer-driven nonprofit focused on environmental education and regenerative gardening. Through our youth-led mural initiative, we’re transforming walls and sheds into murals that reflect the spirit of LEAF’s mission. We are so excited to bring public art to LEAF’s vibrant garden spaces to celebrate sustainability and community!
