Candy, Candy, Candy! The 10th Annual Brooks Trunk or Treat will be held on Thursday, October 24. We rely exclusively on candy donations to make this event a success. Please drop off all donations at door 1 if during school hours, otherwise have your kids feed the candy monster as they come to school! If you are unable to drop off candy in advance, please bring a bag to the event if you plan to attend.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all our parents and staff who contributed to our Coin Race Fundraiser this year. The excitement and competition that surrounded this event was immeasurable. As a school, we raised just over $9K and met several of our goals with this fundraiser. After our expenses associated with this fundraiser (pizza parties for winning classes, indoor recess games for classrooms and other administrative costs) the PTA will be purchasing several new indoor recess bags that will include fun, new and interactive games for our kids to play during days they cannot go outside, as well as a new multi-purpose couch for our LMC, which will serve the school for many, many years to come.
Congratulations to Mr. Whyte's 4th Grade class for being our top point earning class and securing the grand prize of completing a Victory Lap scooter lap ride around the school. Please see the image below for our top grade level pizza prize party winning classes. If you have not contributed to the fundraiser and would still like to do so, please visit the online link here: https://brookspta.givebacks.com/store/items/1115056

On Friday, May 24, over 50 graduating seniors marched through the halls of Brooks celebrating their graduation from high school in the place where it all began for them, in our first annual Senior Walk!
These 50+ seniors were all attendees of Brooks during their elementary school years.
It's amazing to see how far they have come since their grade school days. The whole school enjoyed congratulating them with a clap out as they paraded through the halls!
What an awesome turnout we had for our annual Family Fun Fair! A huge thank you goes out to PTA Board VP Jamie Staab for organizing the FFF and to our FFF Committee for stepping up to help. Everything came together in what was an awesome night of fun and community gathering with flawless execution. Thank you to our key contributors; carnival game management (Veronica Albright), concessions (Jason Lundstrom), silent auction (Katie Vertenten and Brad Mital), prize redemption (Barb Romero), volunteer coordination (Swati Jain), decorations (Giselle Roberts), entertainment (Jamie Staab), business sponsorships (Jamie Staab & Michael Jackson), funds management (Bridget Palmer & Katie Vertenten) and to our parent volunteers who helped run the event through the night. To make these events a success it takes a village of support, so please consider volunteering for future events which helps the committees plan effectively!
Our Staff Appreciation Week (April 29 - May 3) was a huge success and our Brooks staff felt the love, support and appreciation they deserve. They were beyond thankful for all the support they received throughout the week. A Huge Thank You to Jackie Tallman and our TAW Committee for organizing this unforgettable week!
On Monday, the staff was gifted "Teacher Survival Kits" full of goodies that represent our "Wild Year" theme and were treated to an afternoon snack cart! On Tuesday we began a three day Team Building Challenge and the staff enjoyed a Trail Mix snack bar throughout the day. On Wednesday morning the staff had a bagel and coffee breakfast and were treated to an afternoon sweet treat of funnel cakes and lemonade from (My Funnel Cake Truck). On Thursday the staff enjoyed Firehouse Subs boxed lunches and S'More Kits. Friday completed the week of recognition and treats with a catered smked BBQ lunch by Knights Smokehouse, chair massages by parent Shawn Cassady (Cassady Massage Therapy) and an afternoon snack cart. Check out the photo collages below for a glimpse of the fun that was had by all our Brooks staff. Thank you to our families who contributed to the Staff Appreciation Week and made this possible through your generous contributions!
As part of a Teacher Appreciation Week Team Building Challenge, Mrs. Julie South completed a successful challenge to write an email to invite Mayor Irvin to visit Brooks during Teacher Appreciation Week! Mayor Irvin came and honored several of our awesome Brooks Teachers last Tuesday, May 7, for their hard work in growing the minds of our children!
Visit our Google Site to check out the Brooks Staff list of Favorite things. This is a great way to honor your child's teacher or a staff member with something from their favorites list for the Holidays or Teacher Appreciation Week!
