Teach your monster to read is a computer program that allows your child to learn letters, sounds and practice reading full sentences. The computer program is free and children can earn rewards and create characters which makes learning to read fun!
Between the Lions is a website published by PBS, which aims to assist early readers to develop key reading skills. Students will learn fluency, phonemic awareness, phonics and vocabulary through this interactive site.
Sightwords.com is a great website for learning high frequency words that should be memorized to help a child learn to read and write. Learning sight words allows a child to recognize these words at a glance — on sight — without needing to break the words down into their individual letters. This website has great games and interactive activities for kids.
The Reading Bear is website to support students learn and understand letter sounds. For each sound, students can watch an accompanied video and learn the different sounds in words. At the end, students can complete an interactive quiz to consolidate there learning.
This free website provides students with a variety of book titles that are read to them. Students can listen to the book and complete activities to demonstrate their understanding of the text.
