Sightwords.com is a great website for learning high frequency words that should be memorized to help a child learn to read and write. Learning sight words allows a child to recognize these words at a glance — on sight — without needing to break the words down into their individual letters. This website has great games and interactive activities for kids.
Fun Brain is a website that provides students with various texts to read at their own pace. Students have the opportunity to have access to new books for different reading levels.
Book Club for Kids is a website where students can listen to podcasts about popular books from other kids. The podcasts run bi-weekly and students have the opportunity to learn about different books and recommendations from students.
Toontastic 3D is an website that allows students to create a digital story. This is a great supplementary resource to assist students in developing an understanding of the text they read and to reinforce key messages in the book. Students can create scenes and characters to create their story.
This free website provides students with a variety of book titles that are read to them. Students can listen to the book and complete activities to demonstrate their understanding of the text.
