Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence
After completing a degree in psychology with a concentration in child/adolescent development, I have noticed an enhancement in my emotional intelligence skills. I have learned to recognize and understand the emotions of young individuals, helping to build meaningful connections with them and provide appropriate support during their development.
Professionals working in child /adolescent development have the opportunity to develop their emotional intelligence skills. This skill set involves self-awareness, empathy, and understanding of others' emotions. Professionals working with children and adolescents often need to read and respond to their emotions appropriately, manage their own emotions effectively, and effectively communicate with children who may be experiencing a range of emotions. Emotional intelligence plays a vital role in building rapport, establishing trust, and providing effective support.
