InDesign Newspaper Layout Project
This project focused on developing professional desktop publishing skills using Adobe InDesign. I created a one-page mock newspaper layout based on the design and structure of a real printed newspaper. Working on a tabloid-sized document, I applied industry-standard layout techniques, including proper handling of raster and vector image formats, spot colors, typography styles, and print-ready packaging. The assignment emphasized preparing files for commercial printing, addressing key considerations such as paper size, font embedding, linked assets, and layout consistency. This hands-on experience simulated the workflow of producing press-ready publications for traditional media.
This assignment focused on applying print layout and branding principles to create a professional letterhead using Adobe InDesign. Using the logo I developed in Illustrator, I designed a custom letterhead that aligns with fictional brand identity and is suitable for both print and digital use. The project emphasized industry standards for press output, including proper paper sizing, spot color usage, font compatibility, bleeds, printer’s marks, and packaging files for a commercial printer.
