GENERAL RULES FOR THE PROGRAM
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO:
1. Keep the rehearsal room, dressing rooms, stage and all other theatre facilities clean and in order. Restore rooms to how you found them, throw trash away, and take pride in the spaces.
2. Never miss a scheduled rehearsal or meeting. If you are sick you should either, be sick enough to go to a doctor or hospital, or have the OK from the director or teacher that you should stay home and not get others sick.
3. Show up early to rehearsals, classes, meetings, and work calls. Never be late.
4. Let stage management know in the very rare and unlikely event that you will be late.
5. Show up prepared. That means actors should be off book when needed, have blocking memorized. Designers should provide research, complete sketches and models, and meet all other deadlines and demands on time. Everyone must have ideas, have script analysis completed, and have read the play multiple times. Come to the table with a vision, and then be prepared to let elements go in a healthy collaboration.
6. Stay positive, leave baggage at the door, resist cynicism, gossip, and jokes at others expense. Abandon all petty, childish behavior that destroys an ensemble.
7. Assume everyone has a good intent, and always make sure you always act on your best intention.
8. Only respond to other people's work if the teacher or director provides space for feedback. And when giving feedback on other artists work never look for weaknesses, problems, or things you don't like. Look for the questions that their work presents. Also consider the opportunities that the work contains.
9. Take care of yourself: Get enough sleep, eat healthy, exercise, pursue healthy strategies for managing mental health such as therapy, and meditation. Intentionally focus on the positive. Limit a sense of overwhelm by keeping yourself organized and not procrastinating.
10. Check your email, and the call-board, EVERY DAY, and respond to correspondence within 24 hours.
