Include completed options as artifacts in your USI 101 Portfolio Template
Explore your new surroundings!
Take a mindful walk around a part of campus that is new to you (ex: trail system, “old campus”...somewhere you've never walked before) and/or have an off-campus adventure such as a hike or walk around new spots in downtown Sylva. Be sure to follow safety tips! The idea is for you to better familiarize yourself with your new home away from home while checking in with your senses and recharging your batteries in the process.
Upload a reflection to your portfolio explaining where you went, how the walk impacted each of your senses, whether you might repeat this experience again, and how this experience may help you get comfortable in a new land if you were to study abroad.
Option 1: SATS Application.
Review the instructions for the Brinson Honors College Study Abroad Travel Support award.
Write a draft of your SATS application for travel funding and include this as an artifact in your portfolio.
Provide a short reflection on the application process and what you learned about in the process.
Option 2: Which way to Study Abroad?
Go to the WCU Study Abroad website. Explore the tabs under 6 Ways to Study Abroad.
Identify two options you would choose and explain why you selected those options in an infographic. Post this as both an artifact and reflection in your portfolio.
