Engage in career exploration by completing the FYE Chapter 10 Module in Canvas.
Review the Career & Professional Development (CCPD) Chapter on Canvas. Specifically, carefully and mindfully review: the Chapter 10 overview, the career service office overview, and then complete the Stage 1 Self Exploration Assignment.
Complete the Focus II and upload it to your portfolio as an artifact
Complete a reflection and include at a minimum what the results indicate and what your plan to do now that you have the results. Specifically, how will this relate to your learning plan?
Option 1: Gain valuable transferable skills.
Complete Level 1 of the teamwork or professionalism or cultural responsiveness skill of the DegreePlus Program. Upload your points dashboard into your portfolio, reflection on what you gained in transferrable and extracurricular knowledge from the level 1 experience (consider using this reflection as the basis for your level 2 Degree Plus attainment).
Option 2: Create a new “college resume.”
Make an appointment and meet with a career counselor to make improvements to your “high school” resume.
Upload your new “college resume” to your portfolio.
Reflect on your resume writing experience. Address the following in your reflection and include in your portfolio:
-3 changes you made or new components you added to your resume.
-At least 2 ways you plan to further build your resume during your time at WCU.
-Identify 1 specific situation/circumstance/way that you plan to use your new resume in the short term.
