Brighton Bengal Big Band
Jazz at Brighton High School is an early morning, '0' period ensemble that meets throughout the week before first period. Any interested students can audition for the ensemble, but should be concurrently enrolled in another band or orchestra class (exceptions for guitar and piano).
Instrumentation: The Big Band has the following spots each year:
5 Saxophones: 2 Alto, 2 Tenor, 1 Baritone
4-5 Trombones
4-5 Trumpets
2 Bass
2 Guitar
2 Piano
2 Drum Set
*Additional students may be admitted on an 'alternate' status. These students are part of the ensembles, but might have to rotate with other members for performances during festivals.
*Jazz is an advanced group- students are admitted via audition after showing sufficient skill and maturity to handle the responsibilities of the ensemble. Auditions are in the spring during third Trimester.
