My name is Jennifer Baughn, and I am the Director at Bright Future's Learning Academy. I have 4 of my own children and have been in the Early Childhood Education field for over 20 years. I have my BA in Early Childhood Development. I started out as a Family Childcare provider for the United States Air Force. Then I moved to the Air Force Child Development Center, where I worked my way up from a Preschool Lead teacher to a Training and Curriculum Specialist to an Assistant Director—now, leading my own program as a director is a dream come true for me. Working with children, mentoring, and leading teachers to provide high-quality care is my passion.
I can't wait to bring your family into ours and watch your children thrive and grow as they begin the path in education!
Our program will maintain high-quality care by maintaining accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). As a leader in this program, I will ensure that we hire qualified staff to lead our classrooms. Professional development training and opportunities will be available to all staff members. Families entering our program will have the opportunity to meet the teachers who will be caring for their child in an orientation prior to beginning care. If at any time you have questions or concerns, my door is always open, and I encourage you to stop by anytime.
All of our staff will undergo a complete background check before they can be alone with children. We ensure staff are fully trained in CPR, First Aid, Food Handlers, and Child Abuse prevention and reporting.
Curriculum training is also provided within their new employee training and through mentorship with their lead teachers. You can view the curriculum in the classroom on the parent board to familiarize yourself with the educational learning activities your child is doing while in our program.
According to NAEYC, programs should offer professional development experiences to "help ensure staff have the support needed to improve their credentials, strengthen their practice, and grow as professionals.
Our program strives to represent and include the rich and diverse families that we have in our programs.
