In December we travelled to Smirdan in Romania as part of the Bright Careers project. The project involves 3 other countries, Portugal, Turkey and Romania. We travelled with 6 students and enjoyed a wonderful week visiting local sites of historical interest and the cities of Iasi and Botosani.
The theme of this project is to encourage our students to choose careers that reflect their personal interests, allowing them to enjoy fulfilling successful careers. During the week our students prepared presentations on their dream jobs, posters on personality based careers and creating profiles for future careers. They also delivered presentations on our school and Dublin as part of the opening day’s activities.
Our students enjoyed a wonderful week in Smirdan and our hosts were kind, generous and hospitable. A visit to a number of local primary schools in the area was particularly memorable as we were showered with gifts, food and entertained with traditional songs and dances, all performed by the students.
