In February we welcomed visitors from Romania, Turkey and Portugal as part of the Bright Careers Erasmus Project. Our visitors arrived on Monday morning and after a tour of our school they were treated to an Irish dancing presentation and workshop. In the afternoon our students took their guests on a tour of Dublin city’s famous buildings and landmarks.
During the week the students worked on how to prepare for an interview and how to create a CV. They also worked with Business in the Community (BITC) on their interview techniques and how to develop and expand their CV’s. The students also delivered presentations on people from their countries who had enjoyed successful careers doing something they loved. The students also enjoyed an Irish storytelling session with the wonderful Niall deBurca and a visit to Glendalough and Kilkenny on a Paddywagon tour. They also visited the Tenement Museum on Henrietta Street.
We had a great time hosting our international visitors and the week was a wonderful experience for all involved. Our students did themselves and our school proud and their kindness, hospitality and enthusiasm was deeply appreciated by our visitors. The week ended on a high on the Friday with a party, music and the presentation of certificates.
