Captian Nano's Travelin' Carnival ¬- The name 'Nano' originated in 1990. My first son, Matthew was 18 months old when his brother Daniel was born and he couldn't pronounce the word 'Daniel'. It came out of Matthew's tiny innocent mouth as Nano. In 1993 I started writing songs for my children and Captian Nano's Travelin' Carnival was born!

The idea for the song, On Again Off Again, was born well over 10 years ago! So long ago in fact I recorded the original idea in my old flip phone! The idea came from my on-again-off-again relationship way back in the day. It took a long time but I finally got it all together and ended up with this traditional shuffle-type country love/hate song On Again Off Again.

I fall in love…again…this time with Lily…here we go again…I feel another country love song a-comin’!
I wrote this very popular Brent & Woofy song when my kids were little. They loved to eat cheese and toast hot out of the oven. It was too much to say so I combined the words and came up with CHOAST. Now-a-days when I’m performing I will have fans in there 20s and 30s ask me to play this song!
Choast, Choast, beautiful Choast, I like it a lot and I eat it the most. Choast, Choast, beautiful Choast, Cheese and toast makes Choast. Cheese and toast makes Choast.
To make some Choast here's what you need, a slice of bread and some wonderful cheese. A little bit of pepper and some orange salt, And three hundred and fifty degrees.
Chorus
Ask your Mom or Dad to slice the cheese, And turn on the oven, don't forget to say please!! And the salt and pepper and some TLC. It's as easy as One...Two...Three.
Chorus
Now place it in the oven for ten or fifteen, minutes until the cheese is melty. I think it's ready, can I have some please. Let's have some toast and cheese!

I thought I knew love. I have been in love before, but never like this. I was overwhelmed that she loves me so much. Astonished by the feelings that came over me and how I wasn't ready for them. I thought I knew, but in fact I never knew that I'd need her, that I'd see her, that I'd want her, and that I'd love her the way I did.
This time love came to me unexpectedly, it blew me away, I never knew this could happen…

"Rockin' Roddy Rabbit is a rock n' roll star. He sings rock songs and he plays his guitar. Rockin' Roddy Rabbit is the coolest dude around. He loves to play his music with that rock n' roll sound. We wails on his guitar and puts the crowd in a trace. And they really go crazy when Roddy starts to dance."
Rockin' Roddy Rabbit is a Brent song written for Brent & Woofy. It appears on their 2nd recording, "Shine Shine Shine." Roddy bursts on stage in the middle of his song and dance around...the kids go NUTS!
"I wrote this song about nobody. It’s just a good subject to write about. Funny thing, when I performed it in the bars a lot of close friends thought that my wife and I were splitting up! They assumed I wrote the song about my marriage, but as I said, I wrote this song about nobody. Took another eight years before we split up!"
What do you do when you are so much in love with someone you think about them all day long? You wonder how they are. You picture them in your mind. You give yourself to that person. She becomes ruler of your kingdom. You can't eat. You can't sleep. Yes, you are in love.
But what do you do when you love so much that it interferes with your everyday routines? You can't get anything done. Life seems to grind to a halt until you see her again. Even though she is gnawing away in your brain relentlessly reminding you she's out there, it's a feeling that requires experiencing.
But sometimes we wish we could forget them for a while and just get on with living.

While recording Under Start at Raincoast Studio I witnessed Gerry unloading an old bicycle from his car. It was so old it had the original chain guard and fenders on it. When my sons were little bikes were much simpler and didn't include these extras. This inspired me to write the song about chain guards and fenders on bicycles. Woofy thinks a chain guard is a guy who guards chains, and a fender is a guitar!
