The Silos at Sawyer Art Yards

Tranquil Abyss is an installation aiming to create a soothing dreamscape; a place where a person can take a moment to appreciate softness and intimacy.
This quote from Butterflies Rising depicts a similar feeling; “I want to fall into that beautiful life… Into the soft spaces. Into the glow. Where there’s moonlight. Where there’s soul light... And where it means something if you come close and let your heart beat against mine.”
Visitors were encouraged to walk through the installation and feel the fabric. Imagining it’s a safe sort of womb housing you while one takes a moment to recharge.

Bind Me is a performance that symbolizes the feeling of pressure one puts on themself, with the added weight of expectations from others. The audience is invited to participate in the tying of fabric onto a body to reflect on what turmoil and emotions can ensure from being down and bound.
