After graduation, in the midst of the pandemic, I began a Student Visitor position at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in July, 2021. Through the work I have been able to participate in, I have developed a real passion for doing research focused on Earth System Prediction in our changing climate. Coupling this curiosity with the inspiration I have felt by being a part of the scientific community, I now hope to find a PhD program to further my understanding of our planet and processes that impact people across the globe.
In the Fall of 2016, I moved to Boulder, CO for my undergrad degree at the Univeristy of Colorado (CU). After a couple of years of feeling like I was in the wrong place in the Aerospace Engineering department, I found my passion in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (ATOC) and graduated in the Winter of 2020. While studying with so many incredible professors at CU, I was always attracted to topics focused on coupled systems. Specifically, topics like ENSO, which target realtionships between our ocean and atmosphere, grabbed my attention. Along the way in my undergraduate degree I also picked up a minor in Spanish.
