JIU JITSU TRAINING

The Instructor

Jiu Jitsu training is led by 3rd degree black belt, Heitor Abrahao. Abrahao is the author of the Abrahao BJJ Curriculum and has lived in the Northern Guanacaste area with his family since 2010. He has taught in four countries and in three languages (English, Spanish & Portuguese). Growing up in south Brazil, Heitor began his martial arts training at the age of 4 with Judo. After years of regional and national competitions in Judo, he began his journey with Jiu Jitsu. Throughout his youth, time on the mats was a regular activity. Abrahao is a black belt in both Judo & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has developed his teaching style over 20+ year as an instructor, using his lifetime of experience living a martial arts lifestyle. Heitor has been a successful competitor and coach. He has a unique ability to evaluate each students level, learning style and apply the best lesson plan to each class on the spot.

"Heitor quickly assessed my game, saw where my weaknesses were and then asked if I wanted to focus on them or on any other specific areas. We did both and my game jumped several levels after just one week. Heitor is extremely technical when he rolls and teaches!"

When Heitor is not teaching Jiu Jitsu, he is coaching his son in the water and spending time with his family. Heitor has 20+ years experience as a surf instructor and embraces an active life with his wife and three kids in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
