Stapling and placement
Wire splices
Leaving wire extensions
Notes
truss nuts face pastor - bolt heads face congregation - "the nuts face the pastor"
Black wire is hot and white is ground
Staple wires to nut side of truss and then across top of truss
Mark locations for lights and mark on top of truss
For wire pairs that go to outside lights, tape ends together with white tape
For wire pairs that stay inside (like outlets) tape ends together with black tape
Some trusses have two pair of wires crossing - one all the way across for a fan or outlet and another to service lights.
For the light wire pair, twist wires to form extra wire length for the first light (will be cut at install) and then leave some length at staple for second light (about 6 inches) taped together with black tape)
For beams whose wood is too hard for staples or hammered nail staples, drive small drywall screws and wrap wire around each screw to hold
truss over pulpit gets 3 lights, then every other truss gets 2 lights
Pouring to quickly spread paint
Built from scaffold sections
Notes for painting:
56 total tiles are needed - 60+ are provided
Do not paint the side of the tile that has lettering
handle at ends when possible to avoid flexing and breaking in middle
Pour paint from tray or bucket across tile in 3-4 rows letting paint pool in low points
Then use rollers and brushes to spread evenly
Build two paint stations with scaffolding. Use only 2 side frames and one top frame to hold together
Use one standing platform section across side frames as a bench to place trays and brushes
Stack 5 tiles at a time on each station and paint your way down
Create drying areas for tiles against walls or trees and use tile, brick, or broken block to keep bottoms of tile out of the dirt
Stack finished tile near doorway of building but far enough away to prevent mortar from hitting tiles during spackling
Base of finished tiles can sit on 6 broken blocks to save pallets for other uses
Concrete block and pallet stand
Pallets on ground
Notes
save all wood pallets from block and tiles stacks
build 2 staining stations. Four blocks high using 2 blocks per level. Four columns
Place pallet across tops of columns to create a staining station table
Place pallets on the ground to create drying stations
Only stain 3 sides of each perling. Topside against tiles does not need stain
Place first finished batch on ground pallet to dry
Then just leave second batch on top of work station to dry
