The Braun Station West (BSW) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the return of the Yard of the Month award! We would like to recognize our residents who demonstrate superior effort in maintaining their property, which positively contributes to the overall appearance of our community.
Each month, one award will go to Best Xeriscape, and three awards to Exemplary Yard. Please submit nominations using the link below.

Nominated yards that are not selected will automatically be considered in the remaining months’ judging.
The four winners will be chosen around the 15th of each month, weather permitting, for the months of May through September and will be announced shortly thereafter.

4 winners per month
Winners each month will be selected by location of homes
One in Braun Heights
One from Creek Trail
Two from the Tezel/Wickersham area
Two categories will be awarded each month:
One xeriscape award indicated by a yard flag
Three exemplary awards indicated by a yard flag
Limit one award per property per year
Current Board of Directors or Yard of the Month committee members are not eligible
Exemplary Award
Xeriscape Award
Yard must be violation free: no violations of the Braun Station West Covenants, policies, or guidelines
Lawn
Healthy grass with no bare spots or excessive weeds
Grass shall be mowed and edged
Grass around foundations and fences shall be trimmed
Debris shall be picked up and removed (garbage, newspapers, etc.)
Landscape & Flower Beds
Beds weeded and edged
Flowers deadheaded and dead plants removed
Trees and shrubs pruned
Consider beautification efforts including new flowers, new trees, new shrubs, yard decor, etc.
Walkways, Driveways
Clean with trash containers and yard products removed from view in accordance with BSW HOA Refuse Policy
Aesthetics
Overall look of landscape is pleasing (formal or informal, use of color and textures)
Originality/creativity (any special touches of the owner (yard art, hanging baskets, bird feeders, etc.) to create an inviting front entryway and a positive overall look to the landscaping with curb appeal.)
Other Components
Buildings, fences, porches, and patios on the property are required to be in good repair, i.e. minimal distraction from the landscape due to deterioration, damage or construction
