Some memorable moments of the Brain & Cognition Lab
Year-end gathering of the Brain & Cognition Lab!
This year we are very thankful that many of our undergrads have already received acceptance letters from the US and UK! Also a farewell to Victoria Diaz, our exchange student from Spain.
Our lab has been planning for a year for the 3rd International Conference on Forensic Psychology. The theme of this year is called "An era of justice for all: Interdisciplinary crosstalk between law, psychology, and crime prevention", and consisted of talks from psychologists, lawyers, psychiatrist, and forensic researchers.
The conference has now come to an end, and everyone is tired (but happy)!
A joint gathering of our lab members from both TMU and NTU.
We celebrate Liza's PhD graduation, and welcome new graduate and undergraduate students. Looking forward to a fruitful summer!
Another reunion of the 2019 Kyoto crew! Chih-Yen is now doing well and finishing her first year post-graduate program in Chinese medicine in Taichung. Yi-Tsen has worked at Columbia University for a year and is taking a nice break here in Taipei. Alvis just published his own paper in CRPI, and is on his way to TMU Hospital as a resident doctor.
It's always nice to see everyone doing well, hopefully the next gathering won't be too far away!
Shashi, once an online intern with us at Brain & Cognition Lab, comes to Taiwan to visit Ankit and Phil, what a pleasant surprise! Shashi is now doing very well, working at Rakuten in Tokyo, Japan.
We had a nice Indian dinner while the kids were mesmerized by the stunning choreography from the MTV (upper left corner).
Starting off 2023 with some tasty food as Marcel guides all of us through his hometown Indonesian cuisine.
Lots of work ahead as quite a few lab members are expecting to graduate in the Spring semester. Woot!
A farewell party for Maria, who has done excellent work in the topic of ofactory contexual memory in her thesis.
Maria will be going home to Estonia for a while, then straight to the USA for work, we will miss you Maria!
A reunion of the 2019 Kyoto crew! This has been Phil's all-star undergrad cohort from 2017 to 2020. Chih-Yen is going to post-graduate program in Chinese medicine in Taichung, while Yi-Tsen is going to New York to work! Alvis is still stuck with Phil at the moment, but not for long as he is also finishing up his medical training!
It'll probably be years before we can all meet again, will miss you all very much!
It's graduating season as we say goodbuy to Peggy, Michelle, Yu-Chin, and Yi-Jen.
Yi-Jen and Yu-Chin are both going to Yang-Ming for grad school, Michelle will be an awesome pharmacist, and Peggy is going to Cornell Tech on a scholarship! Best of luck and we'll miss you all!
A grad-student lunch gathering! And sending off Amit to Germany soon!
Lab gathering at Palm Pasta, good turnout of undergrad students!
Conference at Kyoto, Japan, during the cherry blossom season. Our lab presented 5 posters!
January lab gathering at Creative Pasta.
Annual lunch at Selfish Burger. The team was growing quite fast back then!
Summer gathering at the Nola Kitchen, with chicory coffee, beignets, and plenty of ghost stories from Ann.
This marked the humble beginning of the B&C Lab. This was our first Christmas Eve when Phil, Yuhui, and Johnson worked on a grant proposal together (that was due on the 31st)... Can you guess which one of us wasn't in the mood...?
