Since beginning graduate school in January of 2024, I have been working with the baseball team in a Graduate Assistant role. In this position, I work with and oversee all of our baseball software and technology including BATS, Trackman, Edgertronic, PitchCom, Synergy, and 6-4-3 Charts. During the season, I also assist with creating scouting and match-up reports on the opposing teams, and help in our recruiting and camp efforts during the offseason. It's been a great experience so far, and everything I was looking for when I moved to Waco!
While completing my undergraduate degree, I worked with the IUPUI athletic department on campus, and worked gamedays for the soccer and basketball teams. During these days, I did anything from social media, to stats, to coordinating tv commercials, and it was a great way to get involved with sports on campus and support my school and classmates.
During the 2023 baseball season, I had the opportunity to come back to Sports Info Solutions, and work as a Baseball Video Scout Associate. This job required many of the same duties that I did as an intern the previous year, but also included some new roles such as leading and managing a group of interns and working more with MLB data. It was another great summer with SIS, and I'm happy I got to be a part of their great team.
I spent four seasons as a coach at McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, IN, and I could not have enjoyed my time more. I began as a volunteer coach my senior year of high school, before being promoted to Assistant Freshman coach the next year, and finally, I was promoted again to Varsity Assistant and Lead Statistician for my last two seasons. At this job, I used all five of my Strength Finders skills daily, and the coaches and players pushed me to get better every day.
I had the amazing opportunity to intern with this great company in 2022 called Sports Info Solutions, and they specialize in tracking stats from different leagues across the world. I worked specifically on the baseball side of the company, and I was in charge of watching games from the MLB as well as the KBO (Korean Baseball Organization) and NPB (Japanese National Professional Baseball.) It truly was an experience I'll never forget.
In the summer of 2021, I gained my first experience working in the sports industry as I was an intern for the Lafayette Aviators - a summer collegiate baseball team back in my hometown of Lafayette, Indiana. I had a lot of responsibilities at this job, but I mostly worked in sales, merchandise, and on gamedays was the official scorekeeper.
During the summer of 2021, I also had the opportunity to intern with a new company called Full Court Analytics. At this spot, I had the unique opportunity of starting with a company that was brand new, and we focused on bringing college analytics to high schools across the country. The owner and I worked countless hours on all the things needed to run a business behind the scenes, and it was a cool experience to see how an analytical company is run.
