Originates at the zygomatic process of the maxilla

The Levator Nasolabialis muscle: Functions in lifting the lips and dilating the nostril.
Can be seen from the frontal bone to the upper lip, and the outer rim of the nostril
Originates at the upper surface of the skull above the eye
Inserts at the nose and angle of the lip

The Caninus muscle: Functions in flaring the nostrils.
Originates at the maxilla
Inserts at the lateral aspects of the nares

Originates at the epimysium of the masseter muscle and the angle of the mouth
Inserts at the angle of the lips

The Buccinator muscle: Functions in moving food between the teeth and the tongue, assists in the formation of food bolus
Originates at the aspects of the maxilla and mandible
Inserts at muscle fibers running in both directions toward the maxilla and the mandible

Originates at nasal part of the frontal bone, frontal process of maxilla, lacrimal bone
Inserts at skin of orbital region, lateral palpebral raphe, superior and inferior tarsal plates
The Pyterygoideus Muscle:
The Pterygoideus functions in closing the mouth and moving the mandible bone from side to side.
Originates at the pterygoid bone
Inserts at the medial mandible
The Temporalis Muscle:

The Temporalis muscle functions in closing the mouth.
Originates at the temporal fossa
Inserts at the coronoid process of the mandible
The Digastricus Muscle:
The digastricus muscle functions in opening the mouth.
Orginates caudal to the temporamandibular joint
Inserts at the medial mandible
Genioglossus Muscle:
The genioglossus muscle functions in sticking the tongue out or protrusion of the tongue.
Originates at the cranial mandible
Inserts at the tongue
If you are having trouble finding the genioglossus look for a change in striations.
Hyoglossus Muscle:
The hyoglossus muscle functions in pulling the tongue back into the mouth.
Originates at the hyoid apparatus
Inserts at the tongue
