Geography/Biodiversity: Waimarie is a ‘saucer-style’ satellite, with a 500 meter radius and two levels. The lower level is dedicated to the docks, repair cradles, and salvage operations. The upper level’s outer ring is split - one half contains the bar/restaurant and hotel. The other half is supposedly dedicated to environmental systems and orbital controls, but it also includes a secure area for black market trading. The center of the second level is private, and reserved for family and special guests. It holds the family’s quarters, guest quarters, and the ‘open-air garden’ with a false sky and saltwater pool. Smurf’s security is unobtrusive but ever-vigilant, using cameras and laser-scans to monitor the station for threats.
History: Formerly a science station, Waimarie was claimed and rebuilt by Big Blue as a home and a home base for his black market operations. It has defenses and security, as well as amenities that are comfortable on the surface, the hotel and bar/restaurant run by Lehiwa Murfyx.
Since it was rebuilt and settled, Waimaie has been host to a number of illegal activities, but as long as the owner pays his taxes for its business as a “junk yard,” it has escaped any serious scrutiny by the Coalition government. Since it first became an illegal trade hub, the satellite has acquired a repair bay as well, allowing ship captains to get under-the-radar repairs as well as some illegal ‘upgrades,’ if they have the money to pay.
