Player Name: Pixie
Full Name: Victoria
Nicknames and Pseudonyms: Five, Tori to her sisters (and only her sisters), Torque in prison and among the crew, Vicky to those who enjoy airlocks and want to see how they function up close and personal.
Age: 25
Birth Date: April 23, 2288
Role on Ship: The Engineer.
Homeworld: Though her mutations denote Goibniu lineage, she isn’t sure where she’s actually from.
Significant Relations and Affiliations: Siren's Song Crew and The Lab Rats (her sisters). Not just an awesome punk band name.
Bonds, Obligations, Debts, and Warrants: Tori has broken out of nearly every prison the Coalition has. She’s got warrants.
Appearance: 5'5", 115 lbs of muscle, Tori has the look and build of a born fighter. Whether by sheer dumb luck, a fuck up in their fun little gene splicing ability, or just through her own sheer force of will, Torque looks every bit the fighter she knows she is. She has short brown hair, olive skin, dark brown eyes and usually has a smile on her face. Especially when a fight is brewing.
Personality: Victoria loves three things in the galaxy, more than the whole rest of the lot combined - her sisters, fighting, and making shit blow up. She’s fiercely loyal to her lab-grown family, the first to throw a punch or pull a trigger. She’s also a lab-tested, certified genius, and she has the ego to prove it.
Strengths, Talents, Abilities: Through endless hours of personal training, Torque has won dozens of bouts in a ring and is a skilled martial artist. On top of her fighting prowess, she has a knack for cobbling together shit that goes boom, and is one hell of an escape artist. She has yet to find a prison that can hold her for long.
While fighting is her passion, her true skill is her mind. From a young age, mechanical engineering was drilled into her the way multiplication tables are to most kids. She is far more intelligent than she lets on and capable of great feats of engineering. Her mutation stems from the planet Goibniu, but unlike most telekinetics, she isn’t limited to micro or macro control. She can control a handful of very small intricate pieces with her mind at once, or a few very large, very heavy ones.
Weaknesses and Fears: Torque would kill for her sisters. Probably has. Probably will again, without hesitation. She puts everything she has into protecting them and anyone who gets in the way of that is not long for this world.
That said, her greatest fear is confinement. Lack of freedom. From early childhood, she was chained in all but the physical sense and the idea of finding herself in that situation again terrifies her. It’s part of why she’s let herself get caught and thrown in prison. To prove she can be free again. The other part is some fucked up urge to punish herself for the sisters she couldn’t save.
While her telekinesis is impressive, she has no skill with the “barrier” form of telekinesis. Additionally, it takes a huge amount of concentration to use her abilities and any distraction (especially when she’s elbow deep in a fusion reaction) could lead to catastrophic problems.
History: Much like her siblings, Victoria spent her formative years as a lab rat. Her routine from dawn until dusk adhered to a strict routine with guidelines she could not waver from. The only comfort she had were her eleven sisters.
Together, they were taught how to be a team, to rely on one another, to communicate. While the lab environment was strict, they were taught compassion and empathy and so much more. Between their robot caregivers, the doctors who taught them and asked them questions and helped develop their mutations, and her sisters, Victoria lived a happy enough life. She didn’t know any different, at least.
Around the age of 10, though, things began to change. Their group courses were trickled out and more individualized, specialized training took their place. Victoria was taught advanced physics, mathematics. Every day more and more advanced theories and concepts were pressed on her, often while she was forced to manipulate heavy and often times delicate objects around the room.
It was a living hell, and any step out of line was handled harshly. Victoria grew tired, quickly, of performing for their visitors and once attempted to refuse to “showcase” her abilities for their visitors. She sat in the room, defiant and unmoving, despite the threats and eventual punishment that came. Three times, she got away with this, until they threatened Amalthea. Victoria quickly buckled, did their little dog and pony show, embarrassed, ashamed, and angry.
Soon after, her escape attempts started. At first, it was just getting out of her room at night, testing the security systems, each time getting a little further and a little further out of her space. But she knew she’d never leave without the other 11 girls. She couldn’t.
One night, while sneaking about, she was caught by one of the doctors - Anita Creed. But instead of turning her in, Anita took sympathy on Victoria, and the two talked. Victoria and Anita never became friends, per say, but over the next few months, they grew close and before long, they’d hatched a plan to get Victoria and all of her sisters out of that damned hell hole.
Five girls, in total, made it out and survived past that night. And soon after, they realized they’d need to split up. To lay low and let time pass by. While they stayed in contact, it wasn’t easy for Victoria to be so far apart from her sisters, but she did what she could to stay busy.
That mostly consisted of using her abilities to steal and con her way into money to eat and then picking fights when it didn’t go her way. For a while, she took to fighting semi-professionally, but even that felt too restrictive. So she wavered back and forth for years between grifting, stealing, and conning her way into whatever she wanted, fighting whatever authority figure got in her way and getting tossed into prison, and escaping again. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Until about three years ago, when she heard that Libra had joined up with a crew and they needed an engineer. It didn’t take much convincing to get Torque to agree to join their happy little pirate crew, given the company she’d be keeping.
