Player Name: Manda
Full Name: Cormac Trig
Nicknames and Pseudonyms: Trig, Macncheese (thanks Libra). His birth name is Nathaniel Creed and he went by Nate when he was younger. He has a few other aliases he uses when necessary.
Age: 39
Birth Date: September 23, 2273
Role on Ship: Medic
Homeworld: Animal Crossing
Significant Relations and Affiliations: Daisy, his EO - standard poodle (super fucking girlie, bubbly, obnoxious, and always want bows in her hair. She has all the charm that he doesn't.) Genevieve Creed (wife, deceased) Anita Creed (sister, presumed deceased) Unnamed Parents (deceased) The Siren's Song crew. Annari Neuriko.
Bonds, Obligations, Debts, and Warrants: yes.
Appearance: 5'9". Dark blond/light brown hair, dark blue-green eyes. A bit on the burly side but not 'cut'. Lots of tattoos. Deep voice with a bit of a rasp to it. Crooked teeth. Always has scruff, often edging into beard territory, mostly because he hates to shave and he looks very boyish without some facial hair.
His style is casual and comfortable; he's a jeans and a tee sort of guy.
Personality: Gruff, but not really unfriendly. His tendency to skip the formalities, not sugarcoat anything, and use only the bare minimum of words gives him a pretty terrible bedside manner. Is definitely a bit of a marshmallow, especially when it comes to his EO, and he doesn't hide his softer side. He's very comfortable in his masculinity. He's gotten really good at anticipating Daisy's needs and wants over the years and can keep her pretty content for the most part.
His first priority is always his crewmates and keeping them alive.
Trig is smart but isn't the type to flaunt it. He's great at compartmentalizing. Is as likely to kill someone as patch them up. He’s a bit of an oxymoron.
Strengths, Talents, Abilities: He's a pretty solid doctor and has experience with field medicine, emergency surgeries, and diagnosing physical ailments. He's less competent with mental health but can take a stab at it if the need arises. Trig can cook! And does! Is surprisingly good at putting bows in standard poodle hair, painting poodle toe nails, etc. Is proficient with guns and basic self defense but isn't overtly tactical minded.
Weaknesses and Fears: Trig smokes cigarettes and has had many vices over the years but drinking is the one that really dogs him. His struggle with sobriety is an ongoing one and once a year or so he falls off the wagon. He's very dependent on Daisy.
History: Born on Animal Crossing, Nathaniel and his older sister, Anita, grew up in a loving home. Though there was a significant age difference between the two, the siblings were always close - and made closer with the death of their parents when Nathaniel was 13. Anita took over raising him, but she was busy in her second year of pre med. Still, she did the best she could, though Nate often ended up in trouble.
Despite that trouble, he managed to graduate with honors and nabbed a scholarship for med school. By the time he was starting his college career, Anita was taking a job off-station - one that she couldn't discuss, working for a company she couldn't name. This created a bit of a rift between the siblings, made all the wider when Anita couldn't make it home for Nate's wedding.
He was halfway through med school when tragedy struck again and Nate's wife was killed in a work accident. He spiraled, started drinking, but help comes from the strangest places sometimes and, in Nate's case, in the form of a snow-white poodle pup named Daisy. The bond that formed between them may have saved Nate's life, when suddenly he had a reason to keep going because if he didn't, then Daisy wouldn't either.
He'd already failed out of med school by this point, but there was a way to get his education - enlisting in the military. So that's what he did. And with the military footing the bill, both Nate and Daisy finished med school. They both got experience as combat medics, then later worked in a military hospital on Praxas, but Nate struggled with his alcoholism until eventually the two were discharged.
Adrift, Nate and Daisy moved on, traveling from one planet to the next, one station to the next, until trouble caught up with them and they moved on again. He kept in touch with Anita, who made it a point to check in once she realized how badly her brother was floundering, but the two hadn't actually seen each other since his wife's funeral and their relationship had never really recovered.
So it was strange when he received an encrypted message from his sister with the recipe for a formula. He saved it and didn't give it much thought until, while living on Warden Station and working at a hole-in-the-wall clinic, a group of teenage girls showed up on his doorstep.
There were six of them and they claimed that Anita had sent them; that she'd told them that Nate, who was now going by Cormac Trig, would know how to help them get better. And at first Trig hadn't a clue what they were talking about, but he couldn't leave a bunch of sick girls on his doorstep - especially in a place like Warden. So he and Daisy took them in and made the formula that Anita had sent him but even still, it proved to be too late for one of the girls.
In the years that followed, Trig stayed in contact with each of them and continued to make the formula they needed to survive, even after he and Daisy had taken up piracy with Zaire Visser and the crew of the Siren's Song. Until, slowly, he began collecting those girls again.
