Player Name: Manda
Full Name: Daisy
Age: 16
Birthdate: December 8, 2297
Role on Ship: Medic. She's also currently studying psychology.
Homeworld: Animal Crossing
Significant Relations and Affiliations: Nathanial Creed (aka, Cormac Trig), The Siren's Song crew, the crew of the Pōmaika'i a Sila. Hazel, her dam back on Animal Crossing. Zephyra Markos, her dam's Adept. And two to-be-named siblings from the same litter.
Bonds, Obligations, Debts, and Warrants: Yes, but mostly because of her proximity to those who commit crimes rather than breaking laws herself.
Appearance: Daisy is a Standard Poodle. She's roughly 50 lbs, with a pinkish nose and the classic electric blue eyes of an Enlightened One. While her hair is naturally snow white, she often dyes it various shades of pink - sometimes her entire coat, other times just her ears - and nearly always has her nails painted. She has a large collection of collars and clothes and can often be found with bows in her hair.
While she doesn't always use it, Daisy has a neuro-implant that wirelessly connects to a speaker that attaches to her collar and allows her to communicate verbally. Her computerized voice is highly feminine and speaks with the vaguely Icelandic accent that can be found on some parts of Animal Crossing. Trig told her once that it was the closest they'd found to the way her voice sounds in his head.
Personality: Bubbly, warm, and approachable, Daisy has never had trouble making friends. She's an excellent judge of character, great at reading both people and the room, and seems to have never-ending reserves of patience. She's quick with a compliment, a tail wag, and has all of the charm and bedside manner that her Adept lacks. While Daisy is generally supportive and gives excellent advice, she's also honest and won't shy away from telling it like it is when the moment calls for it. She'll never enable bad behavior or turn a blind eye to destructive tendencies. Daisy can be surprisingly pragmatic.
The only area where her judgement can get clouded is when it comes to Trig. She leans heavily toward the protective side when it comes to her Adept and won't hesitate to chase off toxic enablers with viciously sharp teeth should the need arise. Daisy refuses to let anyone pull him off the wagon - he does just fine losing his balance all on his own, thankyouverymuch.
Daisy sees Trig and their relationship as her biggest strength, but clearly recognizes that he's also her biggest weakness. There is nothing she wouldn't do for him - and him for her - and Daisy has killed to keep him safe in the past. And would again without hesitation.
Despite all of the time the two spend together, how much they rely on each other, and how overprotective she can be at times, Daisy very much wants to see Trig happy and healthy. She trusts his judgement for the most part and while she might get a case of FOMO, she does understand that sometimes he needs to do things without her. It's only healthy, after all.
Daisy is smart and while she's not technically a practicing doctor anymore, she is very proud of her degree. She keeps up with medical breakthroughs and recommendations and has been known to sneak into university lectures when she can get away with it. Her biggest frustration when it comes to her profession is just how limited she is by her lack of opposable thumbs and this has led her to recently enrolling in one of the Praxan medical universities to major in psychology.
In a more superficial sense, Daisy loves fashion, movies, zines, make-up, and keeping up with celebrity gossip. She likes to be comfortable and has a plush purple bed piled high with fuzzy blankets and satin pillows, but that doesn't stop her from curling up with her Adept when either - or both of them - need a little extra support. She 'keeps her figure' by running on the treadmill daily and while she never hesitates to indulge, she does try to stick to her optimally balanced diet. That said, her biggest food weakness is cheese and she considers herself a bit of a connoisseur.
History: Born on Animal Crossing, Daisy was the last to be whelped in a litter of three. Like most Enlightened Ones, she stayed with her mother, Hazel, and Hazel's Adept, Zephyra, until she weaned and was then ushered off to her first Choosing Ceremony to try and find her Adept bond.
It doesn't always happen right away, Hazel assured Daisy after her second ceremony, but by the third, and then the fourth, the little snow-white pup was beginning to think it would never happen. Was it her? Was something wrong with her?
Months passed and in that time, Daisy watched both of her siblings find their Adept pairs, move away, begin their lives, but there she remained at her mother's side. Alone. Maybe forever.
You just have to be patient, Hazel promised, but when it finally did, the Adept her daughter brought home wasn't at all what the Standard Poodle had expected.
Nathaniel Creed was, firstly, an adult and secondly, a drunk. One of those things was far less of an issue than the other and the second was something Hazel could maybe help with. So for a while Daisy and Trig lived with Hazel and Zephyra, and between the three of them, they managed to get him sober and back on his feet - which looked like joining the CDF.
And, thus, Daisy's short-lived military career began. She was outfitted with a neuro-implant for ease of communication, shipped off to boot camp with Nate, where he managed to finished med school and Daisy even fast-tracked a medical degree of her own. They graduated and were stationed on Praxas, where the pair hit their fair share of ups and downs. Nate's drinking dogged their every step, no matter how hard Daisy worked to keep him on the straight and narrow, and it was only a matter of time before the two of them were shown the door.
From there, the ups and downs only continued. There were stops on random stations, short-term employment at one clinic or the next, but nothing that ever felt like it could possibly be forever. Eventually something would go wrong and they'd be on the move again but always, no matter what happened, they had each other and that was the most important thing.
It was while they were living on Warden Station, that Nate's sister finally reached out. In a sense, anyway. It was a grossly impersonal message, just a recipe for some sort of formula with no explanation, and Daisy was irate at the very sight of it. She began trying to track down Anita Creed, determined to give the woman a piece of her mind, but before her searched turned up even a whiff, there were half a dozen teenage girls on she and Nate's doorstep.
They managed to make the formula and saved all but one of the girls, but to this day, Amalthea's death still weighs heavily on Daisy's shoulders. They set the girls up as well as they could and eventually they all went their separate ways with regular meet ups here and there, both to visit and to pick up their supply of the formula that Daisy and Trig made for them.
Meanwhile, Daisy and Nate signed on with a pirate crew and, over the next couple of years, some of those same girls joined up too. It wasn't a bad way to make a living, if one could get past the moral implications, and despite their rough-around-the-edges ways, the crew of the Siren's Song became the closest thing to a family their pair had had in a long time. Most of them, anyway.
Recently, the crew of the Pōmaika'i a Sila entered their orbit, first as enemies and then as tentative allies, as they were called upon to help save the life of a toddler with a similar history as those lab sisters. Laelia-Belle needed their help and they sure as hell weren't going to say no - even if it meant hopping aboard the Sila for a while.
