Player Name: Silvy
Full Name: Titania "Tisha" Elara Shirley-Jenkins.
Age: 60.
Homeworld: Paradise.
Significant Affiliations/Connections to the Current Crew: CJ, Seth.
Appearance: Lithe and willowy, with a graceful way about her and a warmth that runs deep. She has a dynamite smile, a thick head of dark, wild curls, and smooth skin the color of burnt caramel that's aged remarkably well thanks to a dedicated skin routine she's passed down to CJ. Her long hands are delicately webbed, and she can hold her breath underwater for a decently long time.
She has a number of older tattoos, including some banding around her left arm, a stylized fish hook on the underside of her wrist, and a turtle on her shoulder. A few of the simpler ones are hand poke tattoos.
Personality: She took her time growing into the responsible woman she is now, and along the way learned a good deal about herself, humility, and forgiveness. She sees a lot of herself in CJ, and worries about where he's headed.
History: Tisha grew up in a latchkey home, with parents who were gone most of the time, working long hours that made it difficult to keep track of her and her siblings. Between her, two brothers and a sister, none of them was older enough than the next to play the part of parent. They looked after each other as best they could, though, and ran wild through the waters of Paradise.
She and her siblings wreaked havoc through their teens, but by the time she was twenty, Tisha's brothers had both got themselves shipped to the nearest correctional facility, and her sister ran off with a man about a plan. So Tisha, naturally, fell in with a new crew - spending more time with an old friend from school, staying out all night and sleeping most of the day. Even still, her parents hardly seemed to notice...and couldn't be too upset, when at least she came home.
The night she met Apollo, she wasn't looking for him. She was, in fact, out with friends for a night on the town. That night ended a little crazier than the usual and she got stuck with the 'bill,' so to speak. But the boy from Harbor Patrol who showed up to answer the call about a stolen boat was easier than she could have hoped to convince not to turn her in - and hell, sure, she'd let him take her on a date sometime. It seemed a small price to pay.
Felt like one, too, when he proceeded to sweep her off her feet about how she deserved better than to get ditched by her criminal friends. Tisha didn't necessarily believe him... but she let him keep paying for her dinners, if that's what he wanted.
At least, that's what she kept telling herself this was. Meanwhile, he'd convinced her to find 'better' friends, to clean up her act and get a real job, and it wasn't long, even, before she found herself agreeing to move in with him. He was charming, and sweet, and Gods knew how she'd wound up falling in love with a cop, but there she was.
In a year, they were married, with all the talk of getting a house and having kids that went along. Her sister was thrilled, her brothers either indifferent or indisposed, and Tisha herself really thought things were coming together.
But year after year, despite doctor visits and long nights spent praying, they couldn't get pregnant. And while AJ was doing well at work, between the two of them they just couldn't afford to get out of the shitty little apartment they'd lived in for years, now... They were happy, though. For the most part. She thought.
The pregnancy was a surprise, when it finally came. They were in their thirties, they'd stopped trying and hadn't been for years - but Gods, she was happy then. At least, until the doctors warned her this one wouldn't be easy, and if she managed to carry them to term at all, they couldn't advise her trying again after. She didn't care, though. Sila had blessed her enough with just the one.
And that was precisely how she saw little Castor James: A blessing, start to finish. AJ had his worries, his concerns, but she tried to temper them as best she could. She grew up a wild thing, after all, what harm could letting him have a little freedom do? So when AJ finally got his promotion and they moved into a proper house, Tisha was glad to let him go and meet the neighbor boy, no matter where he lived or who his mum was.
She kept that energy through the years, when AJ would rant about what the Frost boy was doing to their son - trying to reel him back in as much as she could, whenever she could. When AJ really lost it, those nights he lashed out, she wrestled with her conscience. He loved them. She knew he loved them. And if she left... what then? The list of cons went on as far as the eye could see, and every apology and promise to do better next time kept her rooted.
But as much as it hurt, when Castor came to them to say he wasn't just leaving home but leaving the planet, Tisha knew it was for the best.
And the years that followed seemed to confirm that. AJ was better, Castor looked happy and healthy nearly every time he picked up the phone and sure, he didn't come home much, but she took what she could get. It felt like enough, for a while.
When news of Seth's incarceration reached them, though, and the fight that followed all but ended their relationship with their son, she really started to question what was worth it anymore. She began to push back on the narrative AJ wrote for them, for Castor, and the fighting began again in earnest. Still, it wasn't until she heard from her son again, nearly two years later, that Tisha found her resolve. A month or so later, she wielded it.
She told him she should have left him years ago, decades ago - the second he laid a hand on her son. Tisha didn't have time that night to hide the mark he left on her face, but Annabelle welcomed her in without question, and she's been staying at her former neighbor's houseboat since.
Other Stuff: Tisha works as a hostess at a posh restaurant on one of the larger tourist-y islands.
