Player Name: Manda
Full Name: Annabelle Frost
Age: 48
Homeworld: Paradise
Significant Affiliations/Connections to the Current Crew: Seth, CJ
Appearance: Crystal blue eyes, long honey blonde hair. Sometimes she straightens it or curls it but it normally falls in soft waves down to the middle of her back. Her skin is pale and well taken care of, with few age lines. She was always really good about wearing sunscreen when she was young, a habit that carried over into her adult years. She wears a lot of jewelry, most of it she made herself out of crystals and beads. She's 5'7", her build is long and lithe and this, in combination with her boho style, often gives her a floaty, ethereal appearance. She has gills on her ribs.
Personality: Talking to Annabelle is an experience. She's a bit spacy and ditzy; doesn't have much of an education, which is sometimes obvious. She's unrelentingly supportive but can be easily distracted, which often leads to missing chunks of a conversation and, thus, gaps in her memory. She's not a great at carrying a conversation, tending to flit from topic to topic when left to her own devices. Annabelle is also not great at keeping secrets unless she's specifically asked not to say anything and even then, there's no guarantee she won't accidentally spill the beans.
While she's never been officially diagnosed, it's pretty clear that, like Seth, Annabelle has ADHD and the two share many symptoms. She also has mild OCD that tends to manifest in smaller compulsions to ease her anxiety - like touching her Sila painting before she leaves the house, reciting prayers to the Gods, saining and burning incense, and always having the appropriate crystals on her.
Annabelle is a registered sex worker by profession.
History: Annabelle was born in the tiny fishing village of North Savaneta, near the northern pole of Paradise. She didn't know her father well; he was a fisherman and gone most of the year, leaving Annabelle home with her mother. After her mother passed away when she was 10, Annabelle found herself on the boat with her father. He'd always been rather distant and spending more time with him didn't much change that. He had little patience for her questions, quirks, and idiosyncrasies and being a rather heavy drinker meant that occasionally he lashed out when that patience ran out.
When she turned 18, Annabelle moved south and got a job waiting tables at one of the golf courses. Her sheltered upbringing led to some uncomfortable situations but she was a quick learner and a survivor at heart. At 19, she began working as a call girl and soon Annabelle was making a decent living off of it, though her naivety led to a pregnancy not long after. A friend helped her arrange for an abortion but when she ended up pregnant again, less than six months later, she took it as a sign.
She'd saved enough money to buy a houseboat and used her charms to line up one handy man after the next to help her fix it up, each hanging around for a few weeks until she lost interest and broke it off.
Annabelle hadn't made the conscious decision to birth her son at home, but when the time came, she found she was more comfortable laboring in the water just off the back deck of her houseboat and, before she knew it, there he was! She delivered him herself, with a few neighbors meandering over to see what the fuss was about.
Motherhood was easy, Annabelle found, though this was likely because she didn't overthink things. She met her baby's needs without questioning them, following his cues, and fell head over heels for her happy baby who never seemed to cry. In short, Seth became her entire world.
While Annabelle had always been neighborly toward the Shirleys, it had never really occurred to her that they may have a less than stellar opinion of her until Seth and their son, CJ, became friends and then quickly inseparable. After that was one complicated interaction after the next, but Annabelle never let it dampen her spirit or influence how she parented her son.
When Seth was 7, Annabelle got word that her father was killed in a storm. She hadn't talked to him in over five years at that point.
As Seth grew, Annabelle's interest in all things hippie did too. She started a deck garden - growing a little bit of weed here and there, began learning about crystals, tarot, smudging, and astrology. She goes on about energy a lot. She went all natural, cutting as many chemicals out of their lives as possible - though not vegan. They even raised bees on the roof of their house and she currently has a small flock of chickens.
Annabelle was surprised when Seth decided to go into the military, thinking it a strange fit for her wild and free son, but if there was one thing Annabelle was good at, it was supporting whatever he decided to do with his life.
With Seth out of the house and on his own, Annabelle began filling her time with lovers again. Some were clients, though nowadays she calls herself a holistic healer rather than a call girl, while others were short-lived relationships. She even talked, once, with Seth's father though she denied any relation and never told Seth about him. Her reasoning was that Seth had never asked, so who was she to tell?
Seth going to prison was hard and for the first time in her life Annabelle legitimately worried about him. She did all she could from afar to help him through it but her own routines went haywire with that increased anxiety, leading to Tisha Shirley bridging that gap a skosh to help her out.
Other Stuff: Annabelle absolutely loves CJ and thinks of him like a son, or a son-in-law. She's also a total pothead and has never had a long term relationship.
