My priority is to improve the quality of life for all residents of Orangeville by making our community safer, more welcoming, and more active. We need to tackle petty crime, homelessness, and illegal encampments while enforcing existing laws fairly and consistently.
Prevention must be a priority, including greater support for mental health services and addiction prevention, as well as creating an environment where residents feel comfortable reporting crime and disturbances. I support exploring town-wide camera systems in appropriate public areas to help deter crime and assist with investigations, while respecting privacy.
Quality of life also means creating more opportunities for residents to connect and enjoy our community. I want to see more festivals, summer pedestrian-street weekends, sports and recreation events, and stronger support for local community organizations.
We also need to engage our youth through activities they relate to—from music and sports to gaming, entertainment, and other programs—giving young people positive opportunities to participate, connect, and contribute to the community.
By combining prevention, responsible enforcement, community support, and more opportunities for people to come together, we can build a safer, healthier, and more vibrant Orangeville.
