With the rupture that is SARS-CoV-2, an understanding grew that the home I had been building was more important to me than the work I had been focused on for 33 years. There was an insistent urge to find out what significance others attach to their homes, and the life spent working to acquire them. I wondered about the ethics of care which prevailed.
Egyptian author Omar Taher claims that "Home is not where you were born, home is where all your attempts to escape cease". I found myself agreeing, and wanted to find out why.
