Research
My research has focused on regional hydroclimate variability and extreme and their connections to large-scale atmospheric circulations, from subseasonal to decadal or longer time-scales. I am also interested in how these processes are captured in state-of-the-art climate models. My work includes:
Increase in extreme precipitation over the Northeast U.S. in the fall season
Springtime subseasonal meteorological drought development in the central U.S.
Seasonality & regionality of ENSO teleconnections and their impacts on North America
(1) El Niño & California winter precipitation
(2) Multiyear La Niña & Midwest US summer temperature
